It's Been Awhile

New post, but not new quilts. Inspired by the book "Circle Play," I made a                                                     series of transparencies.

Color Blocks for Thanksgiving

Just completed the last of a set of Color Blocks this Thanksgiving eve. It's now time to start cooking. Today, I'll bake the ham, make candied yams and collard greens. Tomorrow will be a small family gathering with a ton of food.  Feeling grateful.

Decided to try my hand at making a batik colorwash quilt.  The 2.5 inch squares will take forever to sew.  I keep moving the squares around and cutting more.  Don't know if the finished quilt will look like this.  I made my first colorwash about ten years ago using a fusible grid. The sewing was a breeze.  Couldn't find any at local stores for this one.

I was inspired by Exuberant Color's gorgeous colorwashes. exhuberantcolor.blogspot.com

The Most Quilting Fun Ever

I can't seem to get enough. Making these family portraits has given me so much joy.  You gotta try it! So far, I've made a set for each member of the family except Banten, the pooch.
